Who I am.
I am Julia Kozyriatska, sole owner of Kin Stories — a wedding production studio based in Switzerland. I am the "data controller" responsible for any personal information you share with me through this site, the newsletter, or direct email.
Contact: juliia@kinstories.ch
Address: Schützenweg 5, Binningen, Switzerland.
If you have any question about your data — anything at all — write to me directly. I read every email myself.
What I collect.
I keep things small. Only what I genuinely need to be in conversation with you, and nothing more.
- Your email address — when you subscribe to the newsletter through the form on kinstories.ch.
- Your name and the words you write — when you email me directly about a wedding or any other reason.
- Basic technical data — the date and time you signed up, broadly which device or location you signed up from (city-level), and whether you've opened or clicked previous emails. This helps me know if my letters land in spam, or whether they reach you at all.
I do not collect — and never ask for — phone numbers through the website, payment information, government IDs, or anything about your guests. If a wedding moves forward together, I'll request specific information in person, by email, with your knowledge.
Why I keep any of it.
Two reasons only:
- To answer you. If you've emailed me about a wedding, I keep that thread so we can pick up the conversation where we left off.
- To send you the newsletter — once every six weeks, never more — if you've explicitly opted in by confirming your subscription. You can leave any time with one click.
Under GDPR and Swiss data protection law (revDSG/nFADP), the legal basis for keeping your email is your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you click the confirmation link in the welcome email. The basis for direct inquiry threads is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — responding to someone who has written to me about my work.
Who else sees it.
I work with a small set of trusted services. None of them sell or share your data. Each has its own privacy policy you can read.
- MailerLite — stores newsletter subscribers and delivers the letters. EU-based (Lithuania), GDPR-compliant. Their privacy policy →
- Netlify — hosts kinstories.ch. Stores minimal request logs to keep the site running. Their privacy policy →
- Google Workspace — the email service behind juliia@kinstories.ch. If you write to me, the message lives in Google's infrastructure under Google's privacy terms. Their privacy policy →
- Hostpoint — Swiss-based registrar for the kinstories.ch domain. Stores DNS records only; not your personal data. Their privacy policy →
I do not use any advertising trackers, third-party analytics platforms (no Meta Pixel, no Google Analytics), retargeting, or affiliate networks on this site.
How long I keep it.
- Newsletter subscription: as long as you are subscribed. The moment you unsubscribe, your email is removed from active sending and from the MailerLite list within thirty days.
- Direct inquiry threads: for as long as our conversation could plausibly continue — typically twenty-four months after our last exchange — then archived or deleted on request.
- Couples I work with: contractual records and wedding-related communications are kept for ten years after your day, as required by Swiss commercial law. Photography and assets stay only with your written consent.
What you can ask of me.
Under GDPR and revDSG you have the right to:
- Know what data I hold about you, and request a copy.
- Correct anything that is inaccurate.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), provided no contractual or legal duty requires me to keep it.
- Withdraw consent at any time — for the newsletter, by clicking unsubscribe; for direct emails, by asking me to delete the thread.
- Receive your data in a portable format you can take elsewhere.
- Object to any processing based on legitimate interest.
- Complain to a supervisory authority — the Swiss FDPIC (edoeb.admin.ch) or, if you live in the EU, your national data protection authority.
Cookies, fonts, and the like.
This site does not set its own tracking cookies. It does load two small external resources to display itself:
- Google Fonts (Fraunces and Inter typefaces) — Google may log the IP address from which the fonts are requested.
- Netlify CDN — the company hosting the site logs IP addresses briefly for security and performance reasons.
No cookies are placed on your device by this site. If MailerLite places any when you interact with their links (open tracking, click tracking), that happens after you click into one of their emails, governed by their policy.
If anything changes.
If I meaningfully change how I handle your data, I'll update this page and put a note in the next newsletter — so you can read it, react, or unsubscribe with full knowledge of what shifted.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any change, however small.
One last thing.
Your email address is between us. I won't sell it, share it, lend it to a "partner brand", or use it for anything other than what's described here. That isn't a marketing line — it's the only way I want to run a business.
If anything in this document is unclear, or if you'd like to make a request under any of the rights above, write to juliia@kinstories.ch.
